Trump Jokes About Senator Jon Husted’s Football Physique at Ohio Rally
Trump praised Jon Husted’s athletic build and urged voters to back him as he faces a tough reelection challenge from Sherrod Brown.
- On Monday, President Donald Trump claimed he "examined" the body of Senator Jon Husted at a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, while praising the lawmaker's athletic background.
- Former NFL coach Jon Gruden introduced Husted, prompting Trump to admit he was unaware of the senator's past as an All-American defensive back for the University of Dayton Flyers.
- "I don't do this with men very often," Trump told the crowd, describing his observation of the senator's physical appearance up and down, including commentary on Husted's hands.
- Husted faces a reelection challenge from former Senator Sherrod Brown, with recent polls showing Brown leading 49 to 43 percent among likely Ohio voters.
- Experts have expressed concern that Trump's frequent focus on physical appearances could interfere with job responsibilities; psychiatrist Henry Abraham called such erratic comments a "red flag.
