  • Troy Zinszer was taking a nap when his phone rang around 9 p.m. And he received a call during which Taz said he flipped his kayak and didn't think he could make it.
  • Lewisville Fire Department crews recovered Taz's body around 11 p.m. Just south of the Lewisville Toll Bridge, and he was wearing a life jacket.
  • Troy recalled Taz's statement, "Dad, I flipped in a kayak...I am in the middle of the lake...I don't think I can make it...The kayak pushed away from me...I'm floating toward the toll bridge...I don't think I'm gonna make it."
  • Taz's cause of death is still pending according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office, and his parents, Tory and Pam, hope his memory will inspire others to keep their children close and go on adventures with loved ones.
