Hyundai Motor India to Raise Vehicle Prices by up to Rs 12,800 From June 1, Second Time in a Year
The automaker said the increase reflects higher input and commodity costs, and it will be its second price hike this year.
On Wednesday, Hyundai Motor India announced vehicle prices will rise by up to Rs 12,800 from June 1, deferring a planned May increase citing prevailing market conditions.
Rising commodity prices and input costs forced the automaker to pass expenses to customers, describing the move as a "nominal price increase" while optimizing internal costs.
Industry peers Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, and Mahindra & Mahindra have also announced price hikes recently, citing similar inflationary pressures and adverse cost environments.
This marks Hyundai's second price hike in 2026 after a 0.6 per cent increase in January, affecting models ranging from the Grand i10 Nios entry-level vehicle to the premium Ioniq 5.
Global uncertainties including trade route disruptions and energy market volatility linked to conflict in West Asia continue to squeeze manufacturing margins and drive raw material cost volatility.
