Hurricane Lowell, a Category 2 storm, struck the western islands of Hawaii on Monday night (September 7), bringing destructive winds, torrential rain, and high waves, causing power outages in much of the islands, including Kauai. More than 60,000 customers across the state were affected by the outages.
PMRF sets TCCOR 1E, shelter in place ordered due to winds from Hurricane Lowell
PACIFIC MISSILE RANGE FACILITY, KEKAHA, HAWAII – Pacific Missile Range Facility is currently under Tropical Cyclone Conditions of Readiness One Emergency, or TCCOR 1E, due to severe weather conditions associated with Hurricane Lowell. Due to potentially hazardous conditions, all personnel and base residents are directed to shelter in place and remain indoors until TCCOR All Clear is announced.
