Research investigating the molecular basis of schizophrenia has been launched at the Szeged Biological Research Center. The goal, among other things, is to find out how schizophrenia risk factors affect the blood-brain barrier, and to learn about the factors that trigger susceptibility or resistance to the disease. The results may help in personalized treatment of patients.
