Keepers at the Liberec Zoo found a dead maned sea lion in an outdoor pool on Saturday morning. Seventeen-year-old Hugo apparently died after swallowing part of a doll that a visitor must have thrown at him. An autopsy revealed the head of a doll in his digestive tract, which zoo workers had fished out of the pool two days earlier.
Hugo, a male sea lion, died at the Liberec Zoo on Saturday night. Two days ago, he had chewed up a children's doll and eaten some of its parts. The keepers found him in an outdoor pool this morning with no signs of life.
