Huge explosions rocks industrial complex in Argentina

  • Explosions struck the Spegazzini Industrial Park, Ezeiza, Buenos Aires province on November 14, 2025, causing a large blaze and visible shockwaves as thick smoke poured from factories.
  • Officials said the cause is unknown, and residents of Ezeiza and Cañuelas reported seeing an object fall from the sky moments before the blast.
  • Explosions tore through facilities, destroying gates, ceilings, fire pipes, and hitting five factories, including the plastics plant Plasticos Lago and a chemical plant with burning warehouses.
  • At least 22 people were taken to hospital after powerful explosions, and smoke disrupted flights at Ministro Pistarini International Airport, while regional hospitals coordinated to receive the injured.
  • Gaston Granados, mayor of Ezeiza, said `We are trying to control and extinguish it but have not been able to so far`, as 15 fire crews battled a long-lasting blaze.
