Hsinchu daycare center fined NT$240,000 after 4-month-old baby dies - Focus Taiwan

Taipei, March 27 (CNA) A Hsinchu City daycare center will be fined NT$240,000 (US$7,244) and its public subsidies will be ended following the death of a baby this week, according to the city government on Thursday.

DPP Hsinchu City Councillor Liu Yanling said on the 27th that a 4-month-old baby girl suffocated while sleeping on her stomach in a private daycare center and died after being sent to the hospital. The city government fined the center NT$240,000, revoked its public daycare center's qualifications, and then ordered it to close.
