What should be done with all the wood and plastic waste? This has been investigated by Supriyanto, Ph.D. in the research area Resource Recovery at the University of Borås, Sweden. In his doctoral thesis, he shows that it is possible to extract significant amounts of valuable substances, which in turn can constitute raw materials for the production of new products, such as fuels and valuable chemicals.
