Saturday Night Live paid tribute to Rob Reiner, who hosted its third episode in 1975, less than a week after he and his wife were fatally stabbed by their son.
- On Dec. 20, Saturday Night Live flashed a tribute card showing a throwback photo and Rob Reiner's name during its final 2025 episode less than a week after his death.
- Reiner had hosted SNL's third episode on Oct. 25, 1975, and he and Michele Singer Reiner were found dead with stab wounds in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14.
- Nick Reiner, 32, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, appeared in court on Dec. 17, and is scheduled for arraignment on January 7, 2026.
- The Reiner family said they are heartbroken and asked for privacy, noting Jake Reiner and Romy Reiner called their parents 'our best friends' after bodies returned and causes listed as multiple sharp force injuries on Dec. 17.
- Reiner's filmography includes landmark titles such as This Is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally and A Few Good Men, and earlier this year he attended SNL50: The Homecoming Concert.
