Former England Forward Mason Greenwood Makes $44M Move to Fenerbahce
Fenerbahce agreed to pay €39 million in three installments as Manchester United also collect money from a sell-on clause.
On Tuesday, Turkish club Fenerbahce announced the signing of 24-year-old English forward Mason Greenwood from Marseille, agreeing a €39 million deal payable in three equal installments over three years.
Greenwood joined the French side from Manchester United in July 2024, scoring 37 league goals in 66 appearances over two seasons in Ligue, prompting Fenerbahce's pursuit of the versatile forward.
Manchester United will receive €15.6 million due to a sell-on clause, adding to the €26.6 million the club banked when they initially sold Greenwood to Marseille in July 2024.
Journalist Ben Jacobs confirmed the four-year contract on Tuesday; Fenerbahce aims to add firepower to their frontline as they chase their first Turkish top-flight title since 2014.
The Istanbul-based side will cover solidarity payments arising under FIFA regulations as part of the transfer agreement, completing Greenwood's move from French football after two successful seasons.
