U.S. stocks fell as momentum slowed for Wall Street after it rallied from a deep hole nearly all the way back to its all-time high set earlier this year.

The US stock markets weakened on Tuesday. At the close of trading in New York, the Dow was at 42,677 points, down 0.3 percent from the previous trading day. A few minutes earlier, the broader S&P 500 was down 0.4 percent at around 5,940 points, while the Nasdaq technology exchange was calculating the Nasdaq 100 at around 21,367 points, down 0.4 percent at the same time.
