How Dee and Dale Warner's marriage took a deadly turn
The two-hour episode includes family interviews and body camera footage as prosecutors build a case with no direct physical evidence.
- ABC's '20/20' investigates the 2021 disappearance and murder of Michigan businesswoman Dee Warner, with reporting by Linsey Davis. The episode 'Help Dale Find Dee' airs Friday, October 23, examining how her husband, Dale Warner, was convicted of killing her.
- On April 25, 2021, Dee Warner vanished from the couple's farm amid plans to divorce Dale Warner. Prosecutors alleged Dale killed her to protect his share of their struggling agricultural business, which faced financial difficulty at the time.
- Suspicious of Dale's lack of assistance, Dee's brother Gregg Hardy purchased a billboard reading 'Help Dale Find Dee' to pressure his brother-in-law. Public pressure eventually forced the Lenawee County Sheriff's Office to hand the investigation to the Michigan State Police.
- Police discovered Dee's body inside a pressurized anhydrous tank on the property with a 'do not use' sticker. Medical examiners confirmed she died of strangulation and blunt force trauma, leading to Dale's conviction and sentence of up to 70 years in prison.
- Dee's daughter, Rikkell Bock, remembers her mother as 'vibrant, loving, nurturing' and always caring for others. While Dale's attorney plans an appeal, the '20/20' special provides deeper insight into the investigation that brought justice to the family.
