The decision ends continuous access through the shopping mall between the city center and Utrecht Central Station during the late-night hours, RTV Utrecht reports.

The Hoog Catharijne shopping center in Utrecht is closed at night because groups of people cause “serious inconvenience” at night. The shopping center is now open 24 hours a day because it is a walking route to and from Utrecht Central Station, but the owner of the mall wants to close its doors at night. The municipality must give permission for this and Utrecht says it wants to do that.
