HONG KONG, Sept 2 - Hong Kong's High Court on Wednesday rejected a request from the lawyer for the founder of embattled Chinese property company Evergrande to use funds controlled by liquidators to pay HK$1.2 million ($153,039) in legal costs. Read more at straitstimes.com.
On September 2, the Hong Kong High Court rejected two applications filed by the law firm representing Xu Jiayin, founder of China Evergrande Group, prohibiting it from withdrawing approximately HK$1.2 million from Xu's assets under trusteeship to pay legal costs, and also denying exemptions from the relevant injunction against protest.
