Homicide Team Investigating Shooting that Left One Dead in Langley, B.C.
IHIT is canvassing for witnesses and video footage after a man in his 40s died in a shooting that police call isolated.
A man in his 40s died following a shooting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in the 5400-block of Brydon Crescent in Langley. Langley RCMP responded at 11:34 p.m., and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has assumed the investigation.
This incident follows a non-fatal shooting in the same residential complex on May 16, 2026, where a 27-year-old man sustained injuries. Officials are currently treating the two events as separate, unrelated incidents.
Investigators are seeking dashcam or surveillance footage from between 10 p.m. and midnight on May 26. IHIT spokesperson Freda Fong confirmed the unit remains locked for evidence collection, though other residents retain building access.
Fong offered assurances the shooting was targeted with no ongoing public threat. The victim, known to authorities with a property offense history, remains unidentified pending next-of-kin notification.
