HOLYOKE — The Holyoke City Council has voted 10–1 to adopt a committee report that recommends removing all references to the treasurer from the city charter — tied to the city’s move away from an elected treasurer.The decision came earlier this week after a long debate over whether the city could be left without a treasurer at the end of March, when the mayor’s temporary appointment expires.
