HIMACHAL PRADESH, JUL 12 – Heavy rains caused 92 deaths including 56 from rain-related incidents and damage worth Rs 751 crore, with Mandi district being the worst affected, officials said.

- Since June 20, severe monsoon weather—including multiple intense cloudburst events, sudden floods, and slope failures—has led to fatalities and extensive destruction across the region.
- A nighttime landslip close to the Pandoh dam area at Kainchi Mor caused the Mandi-Kullu segment of the Chandigarh-Manali highway to be shut down for nearly 10 hours, while key routes such as the Mandi-Dharampur stretch on NH3 continue to face disruptions.
- Since the monsoon onset, the state suffered 751 crore rupees in losses, 92 deaths, 172 injuries, 33 missing, and disruptions to 463 power transformers and 781 water schemes.
- Search operations continue for 27 people washed away in Mandi, highlighting ongoing hazards amid meteorological alerts for heavy rain in several districts.
