Hill Brings Back House Tradition of Delivering Washington’s Farewell Address

The House resumed the tradition after 43 years with multiple lawmakers reading Washington's warning against partisan factions ahead of the U.S. 250th anniversary.

WASHINGTON -- Days after what would have been George Washington's 294th birthday, U.S. Rep. French Hill, R-Ark., led an effort on Wednesday to restore a tradition of reading the first American president's farewell address in the House of Representatives.
