'The Ninth Jedi' Returns in 'Star Wars: Visions' Anime Series
The anime expands two earlier shorts into an eight-episode arc about Lah Kara’s quest to rescue her father and become a true Jedi.
- On Wednesday, Disney+ and Hulu premiered the limited series Star Wars: Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi, an eight-episode anime following protagonist Lah Kara as she attempts to rescue her kidnapped father, Lah Zhima.
- The series builds on previous Visions shorts, exploring the relationship between emotion and the Force through Zhima's unique lightsabers capable of detecting a person's mental state through blade color.
- Warlord Nawaam, who kidnapped Zhima, seeks to unite the galaxy by force, but Kara chooses to reject this path, finding that empathy and compassion are her greatest strengths.
- Alongside the Star Wars release, Ted Lasso season four premiered on Apple TV on Wednesday, while The Shards debuted on FX and Hulu, and The Last House arrives on Netflix this Friday.
- Additional premieres include Sterling Point on Prime Video and 1670 on Netflix, both Wednesday, while the week concludes with finales for Sugar on Apple TV and Power Book III: Raising Kanan on Starz, airing Friday.
