McGREGOR — Isaiah Aulie landed in the fifth spot Tuesday, May 27, thanks to a 9-over 81 during the opening round of the Section 7-1A Tournament at Minnesota National. Aulie is the top player not on the first-place team, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, which holds a 49-stroke lead over second-place Deer River. Local Athletes Qualify for State Golf
The Iowa Boys State Golf Tournament starts today, and the KIOW area has one local athlete competing. Austin Stene, a senior from Lake Mills will be participating in his third State Golf Meet. Stene qualified to state by placing top 2 as an individual from non-team qualifying scores.
