In view of the high fuel prices, Italy does not levy a car tax on small cars and scooters for one year. France has also ruled - the country extends state subsidies to individual sectors.
Italy applies the motor vehicle tax, "one of the country's most hated taxes," according to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in 2027 for vehicles up to 110 hp as well as for motorcycles and scooters. This responds to the persistently high fuel prices.
Italy wants to relieve millions of motorists of the high fuel costs and suspends the motor vehicle tax in 2027 for certain vehicles. France extends its tank subsidies for certain industries.
