The Supreme Court accepted the petitions against the amendment to the Security Service Law, which prevented arrest and enforcement proceedings against yeshiva students who did not report for service. The law, which was enacted as a temporary order, was already frozen when the petitions were filed. The Chief of Staff warned during the legislation: "The proposal provides an incentive for not reporting for military service."
