Shorthorn junior Caden Herzik (left), shown with coach Jordan Hafley, finish second in singles at the Class 2A Region IV Tennis Tournament in Corpus Christi last week to earn a trip to the UIL state event May 7-8 in San Antonio. Last year, Herzik qualified for state in mixed doubles with Mikayla Otto. He was one of eight from Schulenburg High who competed at the regional tournament. For more, see Page 4.
