‘Heroes’ Cast and Crew Reunite to Celebrate Hayden Panettiere After Her Death: ‘No. 1 in Our Hearts’
Jimmy Jean-Louis shared reunion photos as co-stars remembered Panettiere’s warmth and lasting impact after her death at 36.
The Heroes cast recently reunited to celebrate co-star Hayden Panettiere, who died August 16 at age 36. Series star Jimmy Jean-Louis shared photos, calling the gathering "deeply emotional" and filled with "love, gratitude and warmth."
On August 16, Panettiere was found "unresponsive" at a South Carolina Airbnb apartment complex and pronounced dead at the scene. Greenville Police Department officers accompanied by EMS personnel responded to the residence after receiving a report.
Jack Coleman, who played her onscreen father, wrote he loved Panettiere since the Heroes pilot 20 years ago. Masi Oka wrote on X that he was "absolutely heartbroken" and remembered her "beautiful spirit" and "immense talent."
In a guest essay for Variety, Heroes creator Tim Kring described Panettiere as a "true team player" with a "savant-like quality" as an actor. He noted her rare ability to explore nuances of drama and humor.
Confirming her death earlier this month, Skip Panettiere called his daughter an "incredible light" who brought joy to millions. Panettiere had been candid about struggles with addiction and postnatal depression before her death at age 36.
