Heavy fire loss at Crafty Corner in Downtown Americus

On February 12, 2026 at 9:06 a.m. an Americus firefighter, returning to the fire station, observed smoke coming from Misha’s Crafty Corner, a historic 1886 brick and wooden building, located at 107 South Lee Street in Downtown Americus. He immediately called in an alarm, and units were dispatched from the Americus Fire Station located at 119 S. Lee St., less than a block from the fire.
