Julia Stiles Dedicates 'DWTS' Dance to '10 Things' Co-Star Heath Ledger
Stiles earned her best score of the season as the 10 Things I Hate About You cast reunited to honor Ledger.
On Tuesday, actresses Julia Stiles and Tatyana Ali honored late co-stars Heath Ledger and James Avery during Dedication Night on Dancing with the Stars. The performances featured tributes to the actors, who passed away in 2008 and 2013 respectively.
Stiles performed a contemporary routine to Frankie Valli's 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You,' recreating the iconic serenade scene from the 1999 romantic comedy 10 Things I Hate About You. She described Ledger, who died at 28, as 'authentic.'
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gabrielle Union, Larisa Oleynik, Andrew Keegan, and Susan May Pratt surprised the audience by joining Stiles on the dance floor. The performance earned her a season-high score of 36 from the four judges.
In honor of the late James Avery, Ali and Alfonso Ribeiro performed a Viennese waltz, paying homage to their on-screen father in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The dancers earned a season-best score of 32 for the tribute.
Reflecting on their shared history, Stiles noted that Ledger 'brought out the light in everybody.' The tributes showed the enduring personal impact both Ledger and Avery had on their former castmates years after their respective deaths.
