- Heated Rivalry has added Kevin Zegers, Paul Gross, and Milla Jovovich to its Season 2 cast. The romance drama, commissioned by Bell Media-owned Crave, is currently filming ahead of a scheduled spring 2027 release.
- The series became a 'word-of-mouth hit' in early 2026, with episodes reaching an average viewership of more than 10 million. It follows the secret relationship between professional hockey players Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov.
- Zegers will play Coach Wiebe, while Gross portrays Commissioner Roger Crowell. Jovovich joins as Dr. Galina Molchalina, a therapist; the actress is best known for the 'Resident Evil' movie franchise.
- HBO Max will continue airing the series in the United States. Other Season 2 additions include Justice Smith, Charlie Gillespie, Daniel Diemer, Shaheen Jafargholi, Emily Hampshire, Edvin Ryding, Robert Naylor, Sabrina Jalees, and Priyanka.
- Adapting The Long Game, the season will explore Shane and Ilya's life as their private relationship collides with their public identities. Ilya moves to the Ottawa Centaurs, where he plays under Coach Wiebe.
