The AESAN extends to six the brands of turreznos removed by the presence of salmonella

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs has expanded on Tuesday the information regarding the presence of salmonella in turreznos from Spain. The company has reported that it extends the withdrawal to new products of different brands, manufactured between the dates on which the products initially communicated were produced.

Several products containing sunflower seeds are being withdrawn from sale due to a salmonella risk, the Finnish Food Authority announces. Foodin is withdrawing six of its products from the market as a precautionary measure, as salmonella has been detected in the same batch of sunflower seeds used as an ingredient in the products elsewhere in the EU. The products withdrawn by Foodin have been on sale at several different retailers around Finland.

The Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) has denounced to the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) up to 11 'on-line' food supplements that announce slimming effects due to irregularities in their claims and, in one of them, because they are adulterated with ephedrine.
