An Alevi leader was arrested in Turkey on Thursday after filing a legal complaint against Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa over alleged crimes against Syria’s Alawite community, the Artı Gerçek news website reported.

Aslan Uzun, the Chairman of the Hacı Bektaş Veli Foundation Avcılar Branch and Yeşilkent Cemevi, was detained while he was making a criminal complaint against Ahmed Şara regarding the killing of Alevis in Syria. It was reported that the prosecutor issued a detention order for Uzun for "inciting the public to hatred and hostility" without reading the petition.
