Man arrested in Yadgir for murdering two children by pushing them into a canal following a domestic dispute.

He took his 3 children to a Karnataka canal. Minutes later, 2 were dead

The Yadgir police said the man then travelled to town with his surviving daughter, 6, called the 112 emergency helpline, and told them what he had done.

Two children's bodies were recovered from an irrigation canal after their father allegedly pushed them. The nine-year-old girl and her two-and-a-half-year-old brother were found during a search operation. Police received an emergency call from the father, Shantappa, who was with his six-year-old daughter. He reportedly stated the deceased children were closer to their mother and did not get along with him.

Yadgir Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar said the body of the boy, around three years old, was recovered around 3:30 pm, while the body of his nine-year-old sister, a Class 4 student, was found around 5:30-6 pm during a search operation carried out with the Fire Department.
