US EditionHBO Max 2026 Launch Date For Germany, Italy & More Revealed
- On January 13, 2026, HBO Max, the streaming service from Warner Bros. Discovery, launches in Germany and Italy and also goes live in Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein, nearly completing its European rollout with the U.K. and Ireland still to come.
- Warner Bros. Discovery said the timing is ideal because HBO Max has its strongest mix of U.S. and local series, blockbuster movies and live sports, and the company reported 128 million streaming subscribers.
- From Germany comes local originals 4 Blocks Zero and Banksters, both produced by W&B Television, plus films via output deals with Leonine Studios, Constantin Film and German Warner Bros. Pictures, while Italy will get exclusives like Nonostante and the Melania Rea drama.
- The service will launch with Basic with Ads, Standard and Premium plans and a sports add-on, bringing HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures and Max Originals to millions of potential subscribers.
- On January 19, HBO Max will add A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and stream the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina live from Feb. 6 to 22, with premieres including Marco Bellocchio's Portobello on Feb. 20 and a Beetz Brothers documentary about the Big Maple Leaf.
