Hawaii's State Orchestra Returns to Maui After a Decade Away and the Concert Is Free
The Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra will perform Mele for Maui, a free outdoor concert at Royal Lahaina Resort in Kā'anapali, marking its first full return to Maui in 10 years.
The concert will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and streamed live on Hawaii News Now for statewide viewing.
HSO's return to interisland touring aims to ensure all Hawai'i residents can experience its music, especially after challenges faced by Maui, said Lam.
Bissen expressed gratitude that the free event unites people across generations and backgrounds to celebrate the island community's resilience and artistry.
