The fall of a rocky block on a car caused two injuries and two deaths on Wednesday at the end of the day on the RN 205 between Chamonix and Passy. The victims are members of a family on holiday.
A landslide Wednesday evening near Chamonix, in the Haute-Savoie region, caused boulders to fall onto the RN205. At least one vehicle was crushed. Two people were killed and two injured.
Suddenly a landslide occurs in the French Alps. On the main traffic axis towards Italy a car is hit by rocks. It comes to long traffic jams.
The events occurred around 6 p.m., between Chamonix and Passy commune. The victims were transported to Sallanches and Annecy hospital. The Mont Blanc Tunnel is closed to heavy-duty vehicles in the direction of France.
The two victims, a young man and his girlfriend about 20 years old, were at the back of the vehicle during the crash. The driver and the front passenger, who are the boy's parents, were injured and transported to the hospital.
