Raton health clinic files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

La Familia Primary Care, a medical clinic in Raton, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The bankruptcy comes after Medicare, a federal health insurance for people 65 or older, determined it overpaid for services rendered to the clinic’s patients. The insurer claims the clinic owes $4 million in payments and is offsetting future payments as a result.
