Sui’s Hashi Bitcoin Network to Launch With $500M in Capital Commitments

Hashi will let institutions use Bitcoin as collateral on Sui, backed by launch partners and vault providers.

  • On Thursday, the Sui Foundation announced Hashi mainnet launch, a Bitcoin finance network developed by Mysten Labs, backed by more than $500 million in capital commitments from its launch coalition.
  • Nathan McCauley, CEO and Co-Founder of Anchorage Digital, stated that public companies and institutions hold enormous Bitcoin amounts but lack technology enabling productive capital use within DeFi constraints.
  • Anchorage Digital joined as a day-one launch partner alongside more than 20 companies including BitGo, Bullish, Cumberland, FalconX, and Ledger, providing institutional settlement and self-custody access.
  • Aftermath, Concrete, and Fluid will operate Hashi vaults for lending and structured products; when users exit, hBTC is burned and underlying Bitcoin returns to the network.
  • The Sui Foundation said third parties will independently create financial products using Hashi infrastructure, while Sui tunnels recently achieved 40.6M TPS in live AI agent tests.
