- The Texas Rangers completed a three-game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday afternoon with a 6-3 win in Arlington, Texas.
- The sweep followed the Brewers' early 2-0 lead from back-to-back homers by Brice Turang and Jackson Chourio, but Texas rallied, led by Jake Burger's two home runs.
- Freddy Peralta, the Brewers' ace with a 16-6 record, lost for the first time in seven starts, allowing five runs and surrendering Burger's homer that ended his 30-inning scoreless streak.
- Merrill Kelly of the Rangers outpitched Peralta with 5 2/3 innings, three runs allowed, no walks, six strikeouts, and earned his 12-7 season record before being chased by Rhys Hoskins' RBI single.
- With this sweep, Texas improved to seven games above.500 and closed the gap to just two games behind Houston in the AL West race, while Milwaukee continues to lead the National League Central with the best overall record at 89-58.
