BAKU, Sept 23 (Reuters) - Seven-times world champion Lewis Hamilton said a Formula One sprint race in Monaco made no sense, with the principality's tight and twisty street layout needing a different solution to spice up the action.

BAKU (ANP/RT) - Lewis Hamilton sees no merit in adding a sprint race to the Monaco Grand Prix. "It makes no sense," said the seven-time Formula 1 world champion at the press day ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. "A sprint race is not the solution for a circuit like Monaco. Something else needs to be devised to make it exciting."
Hamilton on Thursday of Baku: "Kimi has 101 points of advantage over me and we have worked a lot just to earn a few points here and there. I think I have to focus on trying to keep me second place or maybe try to resume the Mercedes for the Championship Builders.
