The Income Tax Department has alleged that donors received most of the money back in cash after commissions were deducted, allowing them to claim tax benefits on the purported donations.
According to the Election Commission, all three parties have contested various elections in Gujarat since 2017. But each time, their candidates' deposits have been forfeited. Investigators claim that false information was also used in the donation accounts and audit reports submitted to the commission.
