Complaint filed, prosecutor's office seized, school police: what is known about death threats against teachers

Teachers and the principal of the Grand Cypress primary school have received three emails of threats in recent days, one clearly referring to the assassination of Samuel Paty. The prosecution has been seized.

At the end of April 2025, several teachers and the principal of the Grands Cypress primary school, located in the Rocade district of Avignon (Vaucluse), were the targets of death threats made by anonymous emails. One of them referred to Samuel Paty, a professor murdered in October 2020 in front of his college.

A surrealist scene this Tuesday, April 29, 2025 in Bagnols-sur-Cèze. Teachers and students of the Sainte-Marie private high school were threatened with death during an EPS course in the Escanaux district.

"The subject, apparently, was that the young people who do sports make too much noise and that it bothers," says the principal of the high school Jean-Marc Gucciardi. It is for this reason, questionable, that several young people "landed against the grilling of the stadium and launched death threats," he continues. Some 60 pupils and three teachers of EPS were threatened with death by watchmen at a deal point while they were in a sports session at the Escanaux stadium in Bagnols-sur-Cèze.
