Bomb discovered in Frontignan: security perimeter, containment area... what to know about imminent demining

The Herault prefecture reported on the de-mining operations planned for the night of 22-23 March 2025 in Frontignan. An American air force bomb was found at the site of the former refinery in early February.

The gendarmes of the Nîmes company were asked about 12 o'clock this Monday by the municipal police of Garons after a resident of the commune discovered a grenade in his garden. The deminers of the Civil Security moved immediately from Montpellier to secure the place. According to the gendarmes, the grenade did not contain explosive powder, but the stopper was real. This old grenade was removed by the deminers. There were no injuries.
