Ramírez Steals 300th Career Base, Fry and Manzardo Homer as Guardians Rally Past Athletics 14-6
José Ramírez became the second Cleveland player to reach 300 stolen bases as the Guardians scored 14 runs behind four home runs, the Associated Press said.
On Saturday, José Ramírez stole his 300th career base as the Cleveland Guardians rallied past the Athletics 14-6 in West Sacramento, powered by a four-run fifth inning.
Ramírez became the second player in franchise history to reach 300 stolen bases, joining Kenny Lofton and aligning with active players Starling Marte, Jose Altuve, and Trea Turner.
Offensively, David Fry and Kyle Manzardo each hit home runs while Ramírez added a two-run double in the fifth; rookie Travis Bazzana recorded his first major league hit and RBI.
Cleveland's 14 runs marked the team's highest scoring output since June 28, 2023, against Kansas City, while Shea Langeliers hit two homers for the Athletics in defeat.
The series concludes Sunday with LHP Parker Messick taking the mound for the Guardians against RHP Aaron Civale in the finale.
