Musk turns to rival Anthropic to power Grok
Elon Musk has opted to buy competing technology as he is set to use rival Anthropic’s AI models to power parts of Grok, despite spending heavily to build his own AI challenger. Elon Musk said Grok Bot will be able to use external AI services, including Claude, Midjourney and Suno, to choose a model according to each task. The idea could expand the capabilities of the agent, but still does not clarify what data would be shared, which provider would attend to each request, and what controls users will have.
Grok Bot, SpaceX's artificial intelligence agent, will now use the best model for every task, including those of his competitors: Claude Opus 5.5, MidJourney and Suno, Elon Musk announced on 7 October.
