Montana State faces North Dakota State in 2027 and Montana plays South Dakota State in 2029, continuing a rivalry where these Missouri Valley teams have won 12 FCS titles since 2011.
- As part of the Vegas Kickoff Classic, ESPN Events announced Bobcats will face North Dakota State in 2027 and Grizzlies will meet South Dakota State in 2029 at Allegiant Stadium.
- Last year, 63,969 fans filled Allegiant Stadium, and John Saccenti said, `'After the record-breaking success of our season-opening game last year, it is exciting to announce these future matchups.'`
- Highlighting their pedigree, some combination of South Dakota State Jackrabbits football team and Montana Grizzlies football team have played in the FCS national championship game each year since 2021, with SDSU winning titles in 2022 and 2023 and Montana claiming championships in 1995 and 2001.
- At Allegiant Stadium, scheduled for Labor Day weekend, Clint Overby said, `Labor Day, Las Vegas, College Football — it's the perfect trifecta to celebrate the start of the season`.
