A gas leak on Ampère Street this Friday afternoon precipitated the evacuation of the residents. The prefecture of Isère asked 112 people to leave their homes last night to spend the night in safety. The closing operations on the pipes were to take "a few hours".
A security perimeter was set up on Rue Ampère in Grenoble on Friday 26 December. Firefighters have been in operation for 14 hours for a suspicion of gas leaking under the road. Residents were to be evacuated as a precaution.
