Greek prime minister announces general elections in May after rail disaster
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said Tuesday that the country would hold a general election in May. His government faces widespread anger over a train disaster that killed 57 people in February. Most of the victims were university students returning from a long holiday weekend. The conservative government's mandate expires in early July.
