Forces in several southern European countries continue to fight against forest fires. In Spain, two new fires have erupted. In Greece, too, fires are spreading.
Two new forest fires have broken out in Spain, local authorities said on Sunday, as the country experiences one of its worst forest fire seasons to date.
Greek firefighters continued today to fight a large fire west of Athens, where hundreds of emergency services, supported by the army, volunteers and heavy machinery, are battling the blaze in the Kythairon mountains.
Because of strong winds, the flames spread at high speed: fire brigades, fire planes and helicopters fight a large forest fire near Athens. One of the reasons: arson.
The Minister of Health visited the Megara Health Center, the Vilia Regional Clinic and the Erythra Health Center
About 6,700 hectares have already burned and thousands of people have had to be evacuated due to the fire declared four days ago and that this Sunday is located about 35 kilometers from Athens, the capital of Greece.Continue reading....
