Martin Vobruba, the zoo's spokesman, told ČTK today. The oldest international studbook is kept for this recently almost extinct species of Europe's largest mammal, and a new one was recently published for the year 2025.
This year, three bison calves were born at the Forest Culture Center's Animal Showcase in Gołuchów: two males and a female. A contest has begun to name them. Their names must begin with the letters PO. This year, three young bison were born at the enclosure. Their father is the only male in the herd, Potus. The May 4th article, "Greater Poland: Contest Launched for Three Young Bison," comes from the website Misyjne.pl.
