On 27 October 2026, Great Wall Motor confirmed the assembly of the Ora 5 SUV in Bahovitsa, near Lovech, Bulgaria. A factory called to symbolize the industrial return of the Chinese brand to Europe, on a background of reinforced customs duties.
The Chinese manufacturer Great Wall Motor (GWM) has just announced the assembly of its Ora 5 SUV in Bulgaria from the first quarter of 2027. It is a new rebound for the Great Wall Motor brand, which had brutally slowed down its European ambitions before changing its mind again in mid-2026.
The carmaker has set a goal of producing 300,000 vehicles in Europe by 2029.
