- Under the new minimum standards, most license plate and vehicle data must be deleted within 30 days, vendors cannot commercialize Missouri-generated data, and the integration of artificial intelligence facial recognition with ALPR systems is prohibited.
- Local police responses diverge sharply: Senator Josh Hawley launched an investigation into Flock Safety's cameras two weeks ago, the City of Parkville suspended its program recently, while Blue Springs police expanded theirs this week.
- The order serves as a temporary measure until the Missouri General Assembly establishes a permanent statutory framework; agencies are encouraged to voluntarily commit to these standards where possible under existing contracts.
